Endometriosis has been ignored and often been considered as a common menstrual disorder. Although the exact number of endometriosis cases is not known, around 10 to 15 percent of fertile aged women in the United States are exposed to risk of suffering endometriosis. Around 25 to 35 percent of infertility in women is caused by endometriosis. Even, recent reports in developed countries have revealed that half of teenagers experience pains in lower part of their stomach during mensturation because of suffering from endometriosis.

Endometriosis often does not attract serious attention, both from patients and doctors who examine them. Pains during mensturation are considered as common ones. Many cases of severe endometriosis occur as a result of late handling. There are menstrual disorders which are similar to endometriosis, such as fibroid (benign tumour in the womb) or polycitic ovarium syndrome.

This book discusses in detail the endometriosis problem, answers various questions which enable us to know, and handle endometriosis before it becomes too late.
