Teaser Trailer - Where the Wild Things Are

I vaguely remember this book from my childhood, but have no particularly strong attachment to it. The only reason that I'm interested in the film is the fact that it is directed by the amazing Spike Jonze. Being John Malkovich and the equally bizarre Adaptation. are two of my favourite films, and his name alone makes Where the Wild Things Are a must see. Presumably there will be another trailer released at some point closer to the release date which will have more dialogue, but even at this early stage the movie looks great. The "Wild Things" look fantastic, and it's refreshing to see almost no obvious CGI.

The voices of the Wild Things will be provided by a stellar cast including Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) and Chris Cooper (Adaptation.) I will admit that there are some very corny moments in the trailer (especially the "inside all of us" lines), but it is a children's film so I suppose we can forgive them (and it sure as hell beats whatever crap DreamWorks will be churning out this year.)

Where the Wild Things Are will be in Australian cinemas from December 10th
