Awesome Scene Sunday: "Unspoken telepathy"

"What's this? Spaced?! That doesn't sound like any movie I've ever heard of!"

Well genius, that's because it's not a movie. It's actually a TV series staring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and directed by Edgar Wright. If those names sound familiar to you, it's probably because you've seen either Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, or both, or, if you're like me, both, many many times over.

"Well still, Spaced is a television series! It has no place in Awesome Scene Sunday!"

Says who?! I never said anything about A.S.S. being reserved just for scenes from film did I? Who the hell do you think you are, telling me what I can or can not do? It does say "Plus Trailers - Tom Clift's Blog" on that banner doesn't it? Is your name Tom Clift? No? Then pipe down!

"Actually, it says Tom Clift's Movie Blog"

...quiet you

Anyway, this weeks scene does come from an episode of Spaced, a great pop culture reference heavy TV show. If you haven't seen it but were a fan of the trio's later work, but sure to pick up the complete series DVD boxsets, as it is one of the most spectacular sets in my collection. It's worth owning for the commentaries alone, featuring guest appearances by Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Diablo Cody, Matt Stone and many other geek legends - they had nothing to do with the programs production but are still a ton of fun to listen to talking about what they all describe as one of their favourite shows. What follows (via the link) is one of my favourite scenes from the entire run, which I was reminded of after Edgar Wright himself tweeted it earlier this week (you can follow him on twitter here).

Click on the image below for this weeks scene; it's funny, clever and oh so true.
