Hosted by Travis McCollum of The Movie Encyclopedia, in this episode (recorded just after this years Oscar nominations were announced) we break down all the major categories, discussing who got nominated, who got overlooked, who's going to win and, most importantly, who SHOULD win. Highlights include Travis's apt though perhaps controversial political analogy to explain Avatar's Best Picture nomination, Dylan's amusing description of Colin Firth's performance in A Single Man, and, at around the twenty one minute mark, hearing my phone go off.
But my ringtone is film related, so it's forgivable.
Following this were two games of Last Lamb Standing, the first hosted by Travis in order to give somone else a change to win, and the second to see if anyone could actually take down The Walking Movie Encyclopedia. I continued my trend of just naming the sequel to the film the person before me named whilst Nick continued his trend of...loosing.
The on-air talent this week was comprised of (aside from Travis and myself) Dylan Fields of Blog Cabins, Nike Jobe of Random Ramblings of a Demented Doorknob, and a newcomer, a mysterious blogger from somewhere called Canada known only as The Mad Hatter. Hatter's blog The Dark of the Matinee is one of my favourite LAMB blogs and his podcast, the Matineecast, is definitely worth checking out (right after you're done listening to the LAMBcast).
Speaking of listening to the LAMBcast...do it right now! You can download it here or subscribe to us in iTunes (just search for "lambcast"). If you have any comments, complaints or suggestions, be sure to let us know. I'd also recommend visiting the LAMB this week where you can follow the ongoing LAMB Devours the Oscars series.
