the dorty heir is a great blog: very inspiring, very spontaneously done, and very personalized in a way that is kind of, well, mystical. so, i arranged this simple interview with him, to get a better glance on the creative 17-year-old soul that fuels the life of the blog. enjoy!
what's your name and your age?
My name is Nadir, and I'm 17 years old.
what's your hobby and which one do you think is the best?
I have a lot of hobbies, I love spending quality time with myself (not that I am self-centered,well maybe a bit,but aren't we all?),i enjoy reading and I do yoga whenever I get the chance. Art has a huge importance in my life,I 'm curious about fashion and music. But my best hobby is by far photography,I love the powerful feeling it gives me over time.
who's your favorite designer/ artist and why?
For designers, i like pretty much everything Gaspard Yurkievich does, and I'm fond of of the new Lanvin man's collection by Lucas Ossendrijver .I also quite like what Hedi Slimane does, his visual work really amazes me.And in another context I love Claude Monet's paintings,i love how there's always something new to discover when you look at them.
how do they influence you in the way you run your blog?
I like the layout of Hedi's visual diary, you know , neutral background to really make visitors focus on the content. That's what I use, because I think it has more effect on people's eyes.
where do you search for inspirations?
I love looking at old pictures from my grandma's albums or my parents'.I like seeing old movies, mostly by Godard or Scorsese.I also like to look at some editorials, or some magazines that have nice photography like Grey Magazine or Acne Paper.
how do you define the sentence "perfect work of art"?
I think that a perfect work of art is something that goes beyond reality, something that can take you through time and space, something tangible but unreachable at the same time, something that reminds how much of a genius a Human being can be.
what's your definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is the synonym of great accomplishments, but it also can be as simple as a cup of tea in front of a window when it rains,or a warm kiss from your beloved,a book that takes you to the most hidden areas of your soul,or of course a delicious couscous :)
...and while we're still at it, cool people, what's your definition of happiness? :)
