Is it just me or does this project appear to be seriously underproduced? The quality of the animation looks well below what you'd expect from a major studio release. What's more, the trailer itself seems rushed and poorly made; the oh-so-catchy pop song sounds like it's just been laid over the top without any thought, and why the hell is there a space in between "Like..." and "FOREVER"? Although come to think of it, the better question is probably "who the hell approved a line as awful as she's been grounded, like...FOREVER?"
Either way, after four Shrek films, I've officially given up on "ironic" reimaginings of fairy tales. Especially ones that look like they have the production quality of a direct-to-DVD Barbie movie.*
Tangled will be in theatres in the US from November 24th; an Australian release date is yet to be announced.
