December 13, 2010 - An escaped prisoner and convicted car thief hot-wired a prison officer's vehicle parked inside the Wooroloo Prison Farm compound to make his escape, according to a prison source.
The car is understood to have been in a partially secured area. ... managed to break into the area and bypass the car's immobiliser to start up the vehicle.
The matter is being investigated by the Department of Corrective Services, which yesterday confirmed a prison car was used to burst through the perimeter fence just after noon on Saturday.
