A new ride has opened just two days ago at Islands of Adventures! Did you know that?
I know, you are really surprised to know that. Actually, it's not a brand-new ride. But it feels like it is.
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, one of the most iconic rides of Islands of Adventure has returned to its full glory, after a two-month refurbishment, that started on January 2nd, 2011 (due to the small fire that burned a small part of the facade and backstage areas, not visible from the inside of the park), and that ended just two days ago, around March 3, 2011.
Let me tell you, wasn't this a blessing! The ride is in magnificent conditions now. It has been completely repainted, from A to Z. All its special effects (water, sounds and moving parts) work as they never did before, making the ride look like it has been completely re-built. But, let's take a look at it:
Notice how clear and nice is the color of the track!:
It looks great:
The shack now works!:
Did I mention that there at least fifteen water cannons that explode almost all at once now??:
BEFORE:
NOW:
You can really tell the difference:
The hat has been repainted, after it was left out in last year's minor refurbishment:
All the rocks look perfect:
But, the sign is still missing. I have never seen it, though:
The lights have all been repainted too! Look how cartoon-y they look, with the shades:
The sign has never looked better:
New Express sign (?):
Look at the shades of the rocks too:
They need to clean the glass of the lanterns, as they are a bit dirty (but that's not that important):
The unloading area:
The exterior queue is really confusing. That's what makes it great:
We thought these were new, but they're not. They look new, though:
This sign has been surprisingly left out:
New trash cans in the queue (and in Popeye's area):
All the lights were working:
They made some works inside the queue too, but they left out the bottom, which looks dirty:
This effect now works:
Inside:
Lights!:
These have been freshened up a bit:
Expect sudden Drops and Stops!!:
Mission accomplished, Dudley!!!:
And now, some videos that show you how great the special effects are now, after the refurbishment, and a video from March 2010 (almost exactly one year ago!) that shows the special effects before the rehab:

NOW:
So, what do you personally think? If you've seen the conditions of this ride before the refurbishment, you may have noticed that some of the effect were far from working correctly, but now, this ride is back to its former glory, making it one again a must-do!!
We would like to take a moment to say thank you to Universal for the efforts that it's putting in refurbishing their rides! Great job, that's exactly what theme parks should look like. BREATH-TAKING!
