Bugster - Interbreeding with Beetle & Boxster (13 pics)

Bugster - Interbreeding with Beetle & Boxster -
What happens if you cross a Porsche Boxster with a Porsche Boxster Volkswagen Beetle Recently the cute little Herbie bug car is not so sweet anymore, thanks to this creation by Austrian shop owner, Siegfried Rudolf, who owns CarMaxx. The shop specializes in restoring two popular German cars, Porsches and Volkswagens.

Rudolf got the idea to slap a Porsche Boxster engine into a 1973 VW Beetle when he noticed how the two cars had a very similar wheelbase. In order to mate the two different cars together, the VW Beetle shell was custom fitted to go on the Porsche Boxster’s chassis. The fenders on the VW Beetle had to be modified in order to fit the 18-inch rims and the adjustable suspension. As for the interior, the door panels are from the VW Beetle while the dashboard is from the Porsche Boxster.

As a result of interbreeding got the car Bugster, the new and improved Porsche Boxster Beetle puts down 270 horsepower and is pretty much considered a sleeper. With the Porsche chassis and new suspension, this is probably one of the best handling Beetle’s around.

The vehicle is a cross between a scooter and a car, is powered by two electric motors, mounted in the rear wheels and represents Peugeot’s view for the future of electrical urban mobility. Peugeot says the BB1 is a logical addition to a vehicle line-up that incorporates bicycles and scooters, as well as cars.

Stunning Concept Rolls-Royce Apparition (15 pics)

Stunning Concept called Rolls-Royce Apparition -
You've seen the Rolls-Royce Phantom. You've seen the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Now say hello to the Rolls-Royce Apparition. Unlike its production counterparts, the Apparition is purely a design study. It's the brainchild of one Jeremy Westerlund, who designed it as an independent project while studying at the Art Center. The idea blends classic design elements with futuristic ones, with mahogany wheel inserts and a shape that places the chauffeur out in the open like in vintage motor carriages, with the occupants coddled inside.

Although just a design for the time being, the model itself is nearly six feet long, and in reality would measure over 23 feet long, or four feet longer than the Phantom saloon.

Collection of Stretched Cars (28 pics)

A limousine or limo is a luxury vehicle sedan or saloon car, especially one with a lengthened wheelbase or driven by a chauffeur. The chassis of a limousine may have been extended by the manufacturer or by an independent coach builder. These are referred to as "stretch" limousines and are traditionally black or white in color. Limousines are usually liveried vehicles, driven by professional chauffeurs. As the most expensive form of automobile ground transportation, limousines are culturally associated with extreme wealth or power, and are commonly cited as an example of conspicuous consumption. Among the less wealthy, limousines are also often hired during special events (most commonly weddings and funerals). While some limousines are owned by individuals, many are owned by governments to transport senior politicians, by large companies to transport executives, or by broadcasters to transport guests.

Car Manufacturers Develop Air Bag for Pedestrian

Recently, NHK, a Japanese national TV station screened a news which says that Japanese car manufacturers are now developing technologies that can protect pedestrians from suffering fatal injuries or deaths during a street accident. Such technologies include speed and pedestrian sensors, as well as air bag, for pedestrian. The sophisticated and expensive equipment will be installed at cars' bonnet or hood. If a pedestrian stands in front of a fast moving car, the pedestrian sensor will instruct the computer to activate the car's brake to prevent it from hitting the pedestrian.

Japanese car manufacturers are trying to lower the cost so that the technology will commercially be viable for all cars. Until now only owners of luxurious that can afford for such pedestrian protection technology to be installed in their cars. by Charles Roring
