So I just got back from second helpings of Zack Snyder's Watchmen, and I have to say that I loved even more this time around. A lot of the problems I had with the action and acting didn't bother me neither as much. Moreover, I really enjoyed the last reveal, and Ozymandias' delivery of "I did it thirty-five minutes ago" chilled my blood. The only thing I still really dislike is the unnecessary bloodiness, specifically in the alley scene and the Rorschach flashback(s), where it seemed superfluous, as opposed to the prison scene where it felt more appropriate.
Anyway, I just want to mention to anyone reading that they should go over to slashfilm.com to download this weeks episode of the slashfilm podcast, which featured a ninety minute review of the film with guest reviewer Kevin Smith (director of Clerks and Dogma). The combination of Smith and Watchmen resulted in a total geek overload (of awesomeness!!!), and the review was both insightful and very funny.
I'll probably see Watchmen again next weekend in Imax...yeah...I'm a nerd.
