The residents of an isolated cabin find themselves under siege by dark and malevolent forces that plague the surrounding woods. No, it's not another Evil Dead movie (although wouldn't it be awesome if it was?) It's Antichrist, the new horror film from Lars von Trier, the director of Breaking the Waves and Dancer in the Dark and the co-founder of the Dogme95 filmmaking movement.
To put it simply, I absolutely love this trailer. While it gives very little away about the films story, it provides us with plenty of motivation to see it. The music and sound effects combined with the visuals are insanely creepy, as is the scribbly, childlike text. And that final shot is absolutely haunting. Throw in the fact that the two actors shown in the trailer are reportedly the only ones in the film and that the movie is rumoured to contain explicit sexual content...how much more intriguing can it be? And that title! Frankly, anything called Antichrist has already got me in the seat!
Antichrist will be playing at the Cannes film festival in May. An Australian release date has not been announced.
