Trailer - Moon

Moon
is the feature debut of director Duncan Jones, the son of David Bowie. I am a big fan of space thrillers like Alien and Silent Running, and this movie looks as though it captures the same feelings of isolation, claustrophobia and paranoia that were present in those classic films. Cult favourite Sam Rockwell looks as though he'll be great, and Kevin Spacey sounds perfect as his HAL-esque robot companion (I can't believe no one thought of casting him as a robot before now) The haunting score is composed by Clint Mansell (Reqiuem for a Dream, The Fountain), which is another huge plus. The only potential problem I forsee with this film is that it is an 'indie', and as such the special effects may not be all that great, although I see nothing noticably off in this amazing trailer. All in all, Moon looks fantastic.

Moon will open in Australia on October 8th
