The Collapse of buy America the root cause of today’s American economic crisis

I just visited Forbes.com a website that many entrepreneur and business people like to read. There are many stories of richest men and women there. Some of them are stories about Jim and Alice Walton, who inherited their fortunes from their father Sam Walton. Walmart is the largest discount store chain in the world. The retail giant has 7,200 stores with 2 million employees serving 200 million customers.

I remembered the time when I read the biography of Sam Walton. I really admire his entrepreneurial spirit. He was confident with his discount stores. He worked hard to realize his American dream. Sam Walton, for me, was the father of Buy America. A campaign that helped save millions of jobs in America preventing the export of US dollars for cheaper Asian made products.

It's not surprising if American manufacturers have to close down their factories and move to Mexico or other Asian countries to survive.

American people may wonder why the Buy America Campaign has been forgotten for so long and even until now when the country is facing the worst financial crisis. American people need jobs. To provide jobs they need to change their lifestyle. They must know that if they buy imported products their money will be exported to foreign countries. If they buy 'more expensive' American products, their money will go to nearby manufacturing companies which employ their husbands or wives. Now, I will raise this question, which one is cheaper? by Charles Roring in Manokwari of West Papua - Indonesia. Also read: Running a home business during the economic downturn
