What is the difference between a remake and a reboot? Or a reimagining and a reevisioning? Is to "blackify" the same as to "soulify", and can one Tim Burton-ize without also Johnny Deppn-izing? These are the questions we attempt to answer on what was possibly the most self referential episode of the LAMBcast ever recorded. Spurred by the recent release of The Crazies, a remake of the 1973 film of the same name, the five of us discuss the recent tidal wave of remakes to hit out screens, from slasher films to supehero franchises, asian horror to...MORE SLASHER FILMS!
The on air talent this week (aside from myself) is comprised of Dylan Fields of Blog Cabins in the hosting chair (although he's a little rusty and takes a few attempts to get going - listen past the signoff music to see what I mean). Travis McCollum from The Movie Encyclopedia is back once more to defend his record in Last LAMB Standing, whilst Jason Soto of Invasion of the B Movies makes his long awaited return, bringing his infectious enthusiasm and love for all things schlocky with him. And finally Nicholas Jobe of Random Ramblings of a Demented Doorknob recounts a viewing experience so awful that it seems like only a matter of time before Michael Bay executive produces a horror movie about it.And then reimagines it.
