sex and the city 2: carrie on!

sex and the city 2/ imdb.com

the fab women returned gracefully in the long-anticipated sequel of s&tc. after seen how glittering the first movie was, i decided to watch the sequel which was actually--as much as i hate to say it--not that good.

carrie (SJP), married to mr. big (chris noth), entered the 2nd year of the marriage and they started entering the phase of boredom; the difference between the two then reached the peak when carrie finally decided to take a 2-day-off in her old apartment, so that she could continue her writing tasks.

samantha (kim cattrall); quirky, independent, and hot as always, with no strong storyline at all, which was kinda disappointing for me, since she's my favorite character.

charlotte (kristin davis) was annoying, but not that 'annoying' annoying. she had difficulties in taking care of her children, and her problems piled up as she started feeling threatened by the new hot nanny erin (alice eve).

...and how they toned down miranda (cynthia nixon)'s strong aspects in this movie was not cool at all. she has always been so admirable for being utterly ambitious, career-oriented, and headstrong, but in this movie she somehow embraced the notion "stay at home longer, the kid needs you" by quitting her job. it was not that bad, though, in the end it turned out to be a bliss.

the four then went together on a fab trip to abu dhabi, after having invited by sheikh khalid (art malik), who produced jerrod (jason lewis)'s action movie after he agreed to pay for all of the expenses. many intriguing events happened there; from carrie's unexpected meeting with past-love aidan shaw (john corbett), to samantha's new love (or may i say, lust) interest, smokin' hot danish architect rikard spirit (max ryan).

summed up, watch this movie only for the clothes and good laughs. this movie was surely short in meaning; shortly said, not to be taken seriously.
