Teaser Trailer - G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Wow...uh...hmmmm.
When I typed G.I. Joe Movie into youtube, I was getting ready to slam the hell out of it. But after watching this 30 second teaser trailer that aired in America during the Superbowl, I have to admit that it actually looks kind of cool. Obviously, there's not a lot to analyse because it's only half a minute long (not to mention that it's based on action figues). If I had to guess, there's some kind of elite unit trying to track down an evil villain bent on world domination, who is would assume is named 'Cobra' (or, alternatively, Cobra could be an accronim for an evil organisation...perhaps Crazy Organised...Boys...Red...Apple...or something like that)
What did look good was the action, which surely makes up at least 75% of the film. It reminded me a bit of the action in Transformers, and say what you want about that movie, those robot fights looked freaking cool. This could be 2009's brainless action extravagansa, and I welcome it with open arms.
And as for Dennis Quaid and Christopher Eccleston...hey, even Morgan Freeman was in Wanted. Lets cut them some slack.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will be released in Australian cinemas on August 6th
