Trailer - Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

First off, this films title is awful, as it totally alienates most of the general public; I don't know who Chun Li is, and I don't particularly care to find out. It is also just one of many 2009 film titles to use the same stupid format:

Blank. Colon. The Blank of Blank.

A few examples include GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the highly anticipated Cat and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore .

The other popular one is

Blank. Colon. Blank of the Blank.

This can be seen in film titles such as Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Is it just me, or do a lot of things seem to be rising this year?

Inspired stuff Hollywood. Way to think outside the box.

As for the trailers content...basically it's crap. The voice-over is one of the most awful and clichéd things I have ever heard, as are the words "some fight for power, some fight for us." There ain't a lot of dialogue, but given that the cast is made up of television actors (Kristin Kreuk from Smallville, Neal McDonough from Desperate Housewives) as well as Taboo from the Black Eyes Peas and that guy who played the fourth friend who was written out of American Pie: The Wedding, we can assume the performances won't be of a particularly high calibre. The action looks mostly terrible, although there were a couple of cool shots. Overall, I think Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li looks slightly better than Dragonball: Evolution (although that film looks like it could have some value as an unintentional comedy)

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li will be scissor kicking its way into cinemas in Australia at some point in 2009.

P.S. How about Stupidity: The Legend of the Battle that caused the Revengeful Rise of Retarded Film Names. Of The Fallen.
