The traditional house of Minahasa has been recognized in Indonesia as one of the best earthquake resistant home construction that is suitable for tropical region. It looks beautiful especially when constructed in a village that is still fully decorated with flowers and green plants. In recent days, these wooden houses are increasingly being exported to other regions in the country and even abroad.

With the availability of internet connection in Woloan village, a major place where the traditional home builders can be found, traders of this earthquake resistant wooden houses try to expand their market by promoting their products on the internet. Blogging is now seen as one of the most challenging yet profitable businesses at this time. Technorati records over 70 millions blog so far and the blogosphere receives around 120k of new blogs created every day.

People blogs because they want to express their ideas, communicate with friends or customers and make money.

Whatever your reason is, you will need readers for your blog. It means you need high traffic to liven up your blog(s). The easiest way to built traffic is promoting your blog through search engines such as yahoo or google. Others register their blogs in blogger communities such as technorati.

So, if you have worked so hard and feel that you don't make any progress in your internet money making endeavor, you might consider of giving up and return to your 9 to 5 conventional working system.

Actually, making money from the internet is possible. I by myself make money from selling books online and extracting dollars from Google Adsense. I don't make huge amount of money but I really make some money.

I don't know if Atomic Blogging works or not. What I know is that bloggers must update his blog every day to keep attracting visitors and search engine. Other tricks or strategies are possible but still "content is king." That's what I strongly believe.

Can bloggers still make money this year?

My answer is yes. There are many bloggers who make more than 20,000 US dollars a year. Some even make that amount a month. Making money from blogging is possible but is not easy.

I run a website and some blogs. I have to write articles every day to monetize my blogs. Now, I am trying to find out whether I can make a lot of money this month just by blogging. In addition, I want to compare how much I earn from Google Adsense and Kontera - the contextual text link monetization program.

I just removed Google Adsense from this blog but I still maintain it in my Nature Lover blog. I will write the report to you at the end of this month to compare the revenue. Well, I have to be careful with this thing so that I will not brake the TOS of both companies.

Well, if you ask if I make a living from blogging, I will definitely say NO. Why because I just started. Even running this blogs cost a lot of money. I mean I must pay significant amount of money for my internet bill.

To support this money making endeavor of the internet business, I run a book selling business from home. So far this is the largest contributor of my income. I could make 27,500 US dollars last year. I hope I can increase it this year.

Well , back to the question at the above title whether bloggers can still make money this year, I will say that I will not rely wholly on blogging. I still run my core home business now. How I spend my money?

How I spend my money? This is a good question. Well, I am not a hedonist person. A person who loves wordly things such as goods (materialism, woman and power). No, I am not that kind of person.

The followings are how I spend my money.

1. The highest spending is buying more books. I like readings. So I buy more books. I don't read all the books that I buy. I re-sell most of them in my bookstore.

2. I do research on the internet. I need this type of spending. I help my friend in an advocacy works supporting them in their efforts to claim their communal rights over a huge land and sea area that contains oil and gas. I also study about carbon trading and deforestation that is very complicated.

3. I love art. So, I visits many artists' website especially those who do the figure drawings.

I don't any plan to travel around this year. Last year, I traveled three times to Java and Kalimantan. Of course I have many personal plans on how I spend the money but I cannot tell all of them here in this blog.

Maybe I am interested to build a diving resort. If I can get a lot of money this year, I'll realize it. It is a profitable investment actually but I needs huge amount of money. Indonesia has many beautiful coral reefs. Can I realize it this year? It depends on my earnings. We'll see. How to increase the Click Through Rate in your Website

Every adsense publishers might ask how I get a lot of money from blogging. I run one website and two blogs which I monetize with Adsense and Amazon Associate. Which one gives me the highest amount of income? I honestly say website. I design my English Learning website - Englishland, using Microsoft Frontpage 2003. It has many free English lessons. I put my adsense in between the links of the free lessons. The website consists of several learning categories i.e. Conversation, General English, Grammar, and TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication).


When a visitor clicks one of the links, instead of the ads provided by Google, he will open a free English lesson on his computer screen. He then will watch an embedded English video that I get from YouTube.com. After watching the video, he will continue to do the English exercises provided below the video. He will immediately get the score. A special quiz program is used to check the right and wrong answers a visitor gives. When he wants to continue learning English at this website, he has to find another lesson.


However, I only provide fewer links to navigate on. I put two ads from Google above and below the lessons. By doing that I increase the possibility of visitors clicking the ads. Study case: Selling Flower Seeds and Writing a Blog on Home Gardening

For those of you who have been blogging for at least one or two years, make money by blogging is not a new thing. Home business owners have plenty of ideas to get money. Whether by making homemade products or selling computer repair services, your business ideas can also be monetized through the internet.  For instance, your current home business is selling flower seeds to the internet. You have set up a small but nice online store website selling various flower seeds to the internet. Maybe it has five to twenty pages, one for about us, one for your bank account or paypal or payment gateway account, and the others for displaying the products. Finally, you find that you need to increase your earnings by probably opening another business.

Wait! Think another easy option for this. You have flower patch with various kinds of flowers that produce thousands or millions of flower seeds every year. You have your website up and running selling seeds. What about writing a blog which contains your explanation or personal stories of growing flowers?

Consider this as your personal diary first. When you have written twenty or thirty posts, proceed to the next step, sign up to Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher Network or Amazon Associate Program. You might say, "Does it really work? I heard many of my friends don't get anything from Google Adsense or YPN."  Well, they don't get significant earnings because they don't work hard. Listen, I work hard to get my first US $ 130 this month. It is not easy but it is possible. Besides writing this blog, I have another blog where I mostly talk about Environment and Coral Reef Preservation. I also have another website providing free English lessons to foreign learners.

Don't expect 4k revenue if you don't write and promote your blog. Spend at least one or two hours writing article about what you did today in your flower patch. Fill your article with keywords which many people might like to type on search engine to get information about flower gardening or seeds. And the last thing I should say here is provide a visible graphic link to your online store website that sells flower seeds.

If you do this advise, not only you'll get additional income from writing blog about flower gardening but also increase your revenue from selling flower seeds.
