How I spend my money?

How I spend my money? This is a good question. Well, I am not a hedonist person. A person who loves wordly things such as goods (materialism, woman and power). No, I am not that kind of person.

The followings are how I spend my money.

1. The highest spending is buying more books. I like readings. So I buy more books. I don't read all the books that I buy. I re-sell most of them in my bookstore.

2. I do research on the internet. I need this type of spending. I help my friend in an advocacy works supporting them in their efforts to claim their communal rights over a huge land and sea area that contains oil and gas. I also study about carbon trading and deforestation that is very complicated.

3. I love art. So, I visits many artists' website especially those who do the figure drawings.

I don't any plan to travel around this year. Last year, I traveled three times to Java and Kalimantan. Of course I have many personal plans on how I spend the money but I cannot tell all of them here in this blog.

Maybe I am interested to build a diving resort. If I can get a lot of money this year, I'll realize it. It is a profitable investment actually but I needs huge amount of money. Indonesia has many beautiful coral reefs. Can I realize it this year? It depends on my earnings. We'll see. Nature Lover Blog uses Four Column Template

The blog of Nature lover is now using four column template. It is something new for me as the blogger or creator of this blog. I realized that designing a four column template is difficult to be done alone. So I type four column template for blogspot dot com or blogger dot com and I found it. It is in a blog that provides the template which everbody can download.

I don't know whether you like it or not. I only see that it is good in displaying more links and of course the ads which I need to monetize the blog from the writings or posts. Recently,

I found that I am not focused on certain topics. My postings become diverse and cannot optimize the rank in the search engine.

But I guess it's OK. As long as I can express my opinions or ideas. If you find that it is getting difficult to find the topics that you are looking for, why don't you send me a message. Actually I need response about what should I write for this blog. Comments or suggestions from readers are needed to improve this blog's performance.

I visit their websites and blogs. I read their hit counters and I study the lay-out as well as the content of their blogs.I come to some conclusions:

1. They write at least one post every day. Some even write between two and five posts.
2. They only focus on certain topics. Blogger like Ken Savage who owns Battle Diabetes Blog gets around 40,000 US dollars annually just by writing popular articles about Diabetes. Another one such as Chris Bloczynski focuses on blogging.
3. They maintain their visitors by providing RSS and e-mail subscriptions. This is the most important part of maintaining loyal visitors.
It is important to inform your readers once you have just uploaded articles to your blog. In the past you have to send email to all the members of your blog or website. Now, there is feed burner or yahoogroups that can do the job for you. Just visit most of the successful blogs. You'll find that they provide e-mail subscription form in their blogs.
I also do the same. I build my own English learning community by providing e-mail subscription form on the top right corner of my Englishland website. I also provide similar form in my blog. You may ask, "is it effective in attracting repeat visitors?" Yes, definitely! If you really want to increase repeat visitors to your website or blog, don't forget to build your own community using rss feed or e-mail subscription form.
