nite out.

ph by dev

i was wearing a vintage leather jacket, mango tshirt dress, topshop corset top, and i.s.o wedge booties.

yesterday's nite out with friends. the lights in the smoke-filled lounge were indigo, slashing bright blue, and stark red, just like the lined destinies of our youthful days. tons of laughters, but i hid tons of fears. one of them was fear of falling. with me it was never fear of flying. never. the story of my life doesn't exist; Duras would be proud of me for echoing the line.

I saw the rain falling in distortions, and the motion of the city flowing backward. I saw the droplets contrasting against the strong white lights, drenching the roads in such saintlike immaculateness. I saw the sharp lights outlined those droplets, and the fallen ones on the car glass. I saw the pitch-black sky, the silent backdrop, and wondered what would happen later to those indifferent faces sheltered under dark-shaded umbrellas.

midnight was approaching, and the city was about to renew its mind-bending rules; like a mad professor's plans, it would pass through their hearts, their minds, and as the tangible part of their dreams. their fates were about to change.

the writing above was written just now, inspired by my recent city-crawling about two hours ago. it's raining heavily almost everyday here, and the wind carries such calming chill I could easily sink into a reverie:)

dev, me, and a friend spend the night at the highest spot of our city, where we could oversee the entire city lights of Bandung spread before us like small jewels against the stark-black backdrop of a giant basin.

thank God this airport was nowhere inside my novel, otherwise i'd spent hundreds of words trying to explain how amazing this glass-and-metal megaton building is.

note:

i know, i can't believe it either-- i've abandoned this blog for a whole week since i returned from china. i mean, wow, how time fleeted so fast! it felt as if it was just yesterday those utterly-detailed oriental décor of forbidden city, summer and spring palaces, the great wall, and the confident cityscape of shanghai stunned me, but i have to admit that as much as the trip had been very, very entertaining, it had also unloaded a great amount of stamina from me.

it was summer in china and the weather was whooping hot--thirty-five degrees, even in cloudy days. i was sweating crazily despite the fact i wore tank tops and micro-shorts all the time. hell, even a simple, supposed-to-be-breezy scarf felt like a toaster attached to my neck.

still a long story to go, including this very gorgeous air macau crew named teng xin. well, he's not louis koo but still, he's really, really that handsome that i found it kind of intimidating even to ask just as simple as refilling my small glass with some more water.

hot guys always have that kind of aura that draw people closer when they're far, but the same aura deflects many of them away when they get too close. anyway, the meeting was just one of those days. everybody joked about me and him being a potentially great couple and that we should take a picture together but i'd rather be somewhere under a giant stone than running rampant with reddened face.

thank you for all of those lovely comments, i'm really glad that you like my writing in the last post; you guys have been so supportive lately, and to my favorite ladies garakami, dusk, and tamanna-- big kisses to all of you. i'm a fan of your blogs, too. anyway, there's this cool blog ctrl + ♥ i commented on this morning. she's a very talented writer. i love her!

i'll come back with more stories and holiday pics!

been devouring some books lately. first, claudia gray's 'evernight' (we'll get to it later), and jacob "jake" slichter of semisonic's 'so you wanna be a rock and roll star'; both have different writing styles. the latter's very smartly done, though, being a harvard-educated person does him a lot of justice. while we're at it; won't somebody tell goo goo dolls' john rzeznik to write a book too? he won hal david starlight award in 2008 for being an outstanding songwriter. can you imagine how awesome his book will be? ;)

i'd also like you guys to check out my friend percevalties' recent post. nice style; sort of a crossbreed between grunge and 70s rock-star vibe.

have a nice day to all of you!!

what i wore to watch prince of persia with dev, my bro, my sis, and a bunch of friends yesterday. was a very interesting movie. jake gyllenhaal (aka. my sis' favorite actor) did well as dastan. gemma arterton was as charming as she was in clash of the titans. (just in case anyone had noticed the same; in both prince of persia and cott she starred as the leading man's darling, then died tragically, then got revived back in the end to form a classic happy ending)

i was very, very excited with the comments i received in the last post, esp. the ones regarding my writing! (ahem) thanks for the support, guys, really, they mean the world to me!

happy weekend to all of you! lots of kisses! xoxo.

ps: still plenty of time to support me and dev in clean and clear contest. just a click away! ♥

i want a moment to be real, wanna touch things i don't feel.

vinda sonatavinda sonata

blank stares at a blank diary. sometimes i felt like a stranger facing it, and more of a stranger as i scanned through the pages. days had went by and i have always desired a change; into someone better, into someone that matters, sometimes just to realize that i had taken the wrong turn and repeat the past cycles all over again, only better and more bitter.

graphic tee and giant beltgraphic tee and giant belt

as a child i faced too many confusing options; whether to change or to embrace the childhood (with those mood swings and inability to control whichever emotions to show). they wanted a change, i gave them the refined version of me. they wanted me to be better, i said yes and i tweaked myself again and again. all the way down there, like deteriorating bones because back in those days i abandoned myself and walked in their expectations.

sometimes i got criticized for being too much of a stranger even to myself. the reason why i laughed at the blank page was simply because i did not even feel familiar with the same me who wrote down the past pages.

today's holiday. a great chance for me to calm myself down, listen to my favorite music, and watch my favorite movies over and over again. basically an ideal day for me, although relaxing sometimes does make me feel guilty. have you been there too?

watched dorian gray yesterday, too. i will post a review here soon. :)

also, check out my interview with sonia of dozen dresses. she has a lovely blog!

ilovecoolthings has been my source of inspirations lately. the blog's filled with beautiful, well-edited pictures. i love it!

off the record, there's a topic in     community regarding the main attractions of a blog. i answered that a blog has to appear very personalized, in term of reflecting the owner's true self. what's your answer? :)
